ulta3 Purple Pumps and Face of Australia Another Daquiri Please

I was out at K-Mart on my lunch break the other weekend, putting all the nail polishes back in their correct spots like the OCD person I am, when I stumbled across the most beautiful nail polish I have ever seen in real life.

Enter the new Face of Australia nail polish line, Barbados.

"Inspired by the colours and spirit of the beaches of Barbados, this nail colour story is a fusion of vibrant hues with a shimmery finish." Face Of Australia
Features & Benefits:
  • Advanced formula dries in 60 seconds
  • Stunning shimmering pearl finish
  • Long wearing, chip resistant
  • Toluene free, formaldehyde free, dibutyl phthalate free

I only picked up one colour, although several other are nice now that I've googled for swatches, but in no way am I upset I didn't nab any more.

The littl beauty I picked up was Another Daquiri Please, and even as I sit here having bought it nearly a week ago, I can not truly nail one colour to it. It's a kind of pink, but it's also more coral than a pink. And it's bright, very very bright. Then the shimmer, my god... I think it has pink and gold and orange and all these bright shimmery particles that I know are there but aren't showing themselves to me so I can figure out what colour they are.

My only problem with the polish was how sheer it is. I got up to five coats and it was still VNL city. In exasperation, I took it all off and put on the nearest polish to me which happened to be ulta3 Purple Pumps, a purpley pink creme.

Still in love with ADP, I chucked that on top too.

All these shots are two coats of Purple Pumps with two coats of ADP on top. I am so sorry for the crappy quality of these pictures. I could not for the life of me capture the shimmery beauty that ADP was. You'll just have to trust me on this one.

When I put ADP on top of Purple Pumps, the two colours morphed into this really nice deep pink colour. This is definitely a combo I'm going to have to try again.

St. Patricks Day Mani - Rainbows and Shamrocks (Green)

Okay, it's not really a Shamrock green, more a Tahitian Lime by ulta3, but it was the only green creme I owned. My nailpolish stock is most definitely not brag worthy.

I took these photos several days after I put the polish on, hence why it's chipped, and in the case of my left thumb, completely gone :/

The green I used ulta3 Tahitian Lime on, and then for the rainbow I used a base of ulta3 Sizzling Red, and then just dotted on lines with a smorgasbord of colours I can't even remember at this point in time. And then the classic coat of glitter to hide imperfections :p
That's pretty much all I can say about this, it's nothing special, although I was very proud of it :)

Ta ta!

Speckledy Spots

Well, what turned into a few days, has turned into nearly two weeks. Oops, my bad :)

I've even had these photos since my first post, I just never got around to uploading them. As such, please please please excuse my horrendous fingers and short nails. I hadn't worn nail polish in a long time, and when I put it on again after a break, my fingers swell up, shed and go pussy.

Yeah, nasty.

Now, as I sit here with my gorgeous layering that I haven't taken pictures of yet, they're clean and pretty and the nails are much longer :)

Anywho, onto the nails.

I think this is kind of an Easter design? It reminded me of Easter eggs :)

For the base I used either two or three coats of Mode - Starlet. All the spots are done with ulta3 cremes. From thumb to pinky I used Sizzling Red, Purple Pumps, Blue Marlin, Tahition Lime and Honolulu.
I did the dots using the fat end of a tooth pick, nothing special.

Till next time, which should be soon, I promise. The photos are uploaded :)

Greetings to the nonexistant followers!

It feels a little redundant writing to no one, kind of like the diary I want people to see, but I don't know if anyone ever will :p But, I can't just sit here and hope people will stumble across and empty blog, so it's time I filled it up with something!
And, seeing as I'm currently at school and don't have any pictures of the slightly crappy spotty mani I'm sporting at the moment, an about me seems an appropriate beginning.

Well, my name is Amy, although on the interwebs I tend to go by Aimee, the French version of my name. Don't ask why, I don't really know. Maybe it makes me sound fancy or something :D Renee is my middle name, by the way. I'm a 16 year old girl from always too sunny Western Australia, and we're currently sitting in our ninth heat wave of the season. Oh joy!

I was born 1995, so that means it's my 17th birthday this year! Yay! I can finally drive a car on my own! Although, I should probably look into getting a car, first... My parents are being very shifty about whether or not they're getting me a car.

I should probably talk about polish now, huh?

I can't remember exactly when my affinity for polish started, but I've had a small collection for years now. I've always had this nervous habit of chewing my nails, and polish helped me curb that. I'm just starting to become serious about polish, and my nails love me for my it. My skin, however, does not. I'll spare you the gruesome details of my skin's attack against nail polish.

I like really deep, dark colours that contrast against my olive skin. I don't really like it when polish is lighter than my skin tone. Unless it's a very deep colour, too. I'd say I prefer strong blues and purples, but then real dark berries and such, too.

I don't own many polishes, currently, but now that I've discovered this whole new world of polish blogging, I'd say my wallet is very soon going to give way to a growing obsession. I may or may not swatch most of my colours in the future, they're not very good. Mostly bargain bin polishes even I haven't heard of.

Ah well, I say that's enough for today. Maybe when I get home and finish studying for my major physics test tomorrow, I'll post pictures of my nails.

Till next time!
